Shadow Docket

Did You Know… what the Supreme Court’s “shadow docket” is? It is a feature of the Court that allows the justices to issue a ruling without hearing oral arguments, in order to prevent imminent or irreversible harm that may result from the typical lengthy hearing process. Recently, the Court ruled on Texas’s abortion law using the shadow docket. Debate has ensued regarding the docket’s enabling of partisan rulings. What is your take on the shadow docket?
