Did You Know…the families of the Sandy Hook victims’ settlement is the first instance a gun manufacturer is held liable for murder? Although Connecticut’s Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act shields companies from liability, the Supreme Court agreed to hear the case on the claim that families could sue for wrongful marketing. Remington’s marketing toward young males proved to pose enough of a threat to society that the families were able to successfully settle their suit.
